- Recently, during National Ice Cream Month in July 2026, Mitchell’s Ice Cream was named #1 Ice Cream on Yelp’s National list based on the “Most Saved Ice Cream Shop” in the nation. In a category full of buzzy newcomers, some of the most saved spots have been perfecting their scoops for generations. Mitchell’s Ice Cream (Yelp’s #1) is one of those. A family-owned shop that has anchored San Francisco’s Mission District since 1953, Mitchell’s has over 5,000 reviews and a 4.6-star rating on Yelp, including nearly 3,500 5-star reviews.
